The Voice & American IdolWell I may as well open a thread for "The Voice"! It's the only show I watch religiously!
I hope I don't blow it for you who watch it later! So tonight, the last night of the auditions, female singer Sera Hill blew us away with her performance of the awesome tune by Rose Royce "I'm going Down"! Sang it in a kinda Mary J. Blige style. But her performance, not over the top, but could literally have been listening to a record! Flawless. And this is what Aguilera did: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O0T2CUhIAmQ Last edited by Giba7 on Fri May 04, 2012 9:32 pm, edited 1 time in total.
Re: The VoiceI've been recording it on my DVR every week...but I just haven't been able to bring myself to watch it yet. I was so dissapointed with The X Factor that I guess I'm thinking The Voice will dissapoint me, too. However, I have been spending too much time in my comfort zone of American Idol. But you know what? American Idol delivers...for me. Everything else is just a knock off, IMO. So maybe I'll take a peek at The Voice and see if it appeals to me. Who knows, I might surprise myself.

Re: The VoiceBetter than Britains got Talent thats for sure (they always get easily please.
Re: The VoiceThe Australian version of "The Voice" is starting this Sunday.
![]() I really wanted to watch the US version instead (like last year)! ![]()
Re: The VoiceYes, it was actually! Our judges are two Australians (Delta Goodrem and Keith Urban) and two international artists (Seal and Joel Madden from Good Charlotte.) But I miss Adam Levine!
Re: The Voice
Did you see my dear friend James Higgins by any chance? he unfortunately didn´t make it through..rare talent..god knows who gets through in these days http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dq1j7s-1 ... ure=relmfu
Re: The VoiceYes, I did see him - and he sang "Little L"! (So that made my whole family take special interest!) I remembered him from his band which I had heard about at Jamirotalk. It really was a shame he didn't make it through, especially when the judges seemed to be enjoying his performance. They didn't show the judges reasons for why he didn't make it through. ![]() Great video you posted there, he's very talented. Do you still live in Australia as well as Austria, Sandriche?
Re: The VoiceJames Higgins is good! It's too bad not everybody can make the show.
And those that make the business aren't necessarily the best. Hope he gets a bigger opportunity! I've kinda stopped watching the Voice, but some great singers on American Idol! **Hey -The Black keys are touring Australia!!

Re: The VoiceI recorded yesterday's episode and haven't watched it yet, but from the tv commercial I know one girl's performance will bring me to tears. She's 17 years old and blind; after she sings "La Vie En Rose", she says "I don't know if anyone actually turned around because I'm legally blind."
![]() Okay, I found this clip, "Rachel Leahcar sings La Vie En Rose", 16th April 2012: http://thevoice.ninemsn.com.au/videos.aspx?videoid=8c3c0478-e2e1-4b01-9323-a1e619599e94 Yep, that brought me to tears!
Re: The VoiceI'm glad I found that clip I posted above because the show ran over time and my recording stopped before Rachel Leahcar performed! If any of you have a look at the clip, you have to actually find it amongst all the other clips, I couldn't find a direct link.
![]() I heard a commercial for this on the radio today! They hit Melbourne on 31st October!
Re: The Voice and American Idolon Halloween?
![]() the Rolling Stone was talking about Dan producing Dr. John's album, and they referred to him as "a black key" ! ![]()
Re: The Voice & American IdolOkay, so I renamed this because I actually like the AI singers show this year better.
Christina has turned into a mini-production which is scaring me. On American Idol, it is down to Jessica & Joshua. Also love Jimmy Iovine. But read the RS article, and only like a few of his produced artists! ![]()
Re: The Voice & American IdolRolling Stone gave awards to the Voice.
This is what they say about Christina Aguilera:

![]() ![]() I've really been enjoying Australia's version of "The Voice". Apparently it's been rating really well too. ![]()
Re: The Voice & American IdolPhillip Phillips will win American Idol. He has never been in the bottom three.
Last time that happened to an Idol, they won it!! And that Idol was David Cook. Phillip Phillips and David Cook are very, very similar artists. Just you wait...Phillips has it won!! No shadow on the others...I think like most Idol finalists, they'll all do fine in their careers ahead.
Re: The Voice & American Idolphillip phillips? they are all good.
I really see the coaches endorsing Joshua, though.
Re: The Voice & American IdolThat's even better than "Ben Bennett" on Australia's "The Voice" at the moment! ![]() What are the parents thinking when they name these kids?! ![]()
Re: The Voice & American Idolphillip phillips is good, like a joe cocker.
but he's not attractive when he sings! ![]() really, I'm catching 10 minutes a show!
Re: The Voice & American Idol
Reminds me more of a Dave Matthews type. Definitely puts his own style and twist on songs. His version of Usher's "U Got It Bad" was the BEST yet!! Phillip Phillips: "U Got It Bad on American Idol" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KSw5KU-t3rE btw: I think he's very attractive when he sings. Reminds me of a younger Lindsey Buckingham who I had a crush on years ago!! ![]()
Re: The Voice & American IdolWell he's definitely real!
Re: The Voice & American IdolI think Erin is right. I'll put my dibs on Phillip Phillips.
more original. probably has a greater following. I saw more praise for Jessica, but I only watched maybe 10% of the show.
Re: The Voice & American IdolErin was right! Phillip Phillips did win! Good for him!
But the star of the show was Jennifer Holiday (who looks like she's had some work done!) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NWxDVvwzRH4
Re: The Voice & American IdolI knew it!!
![]() When you look back, there were really only two winners who have made it huge. Those two are Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood. I think Carrie Underwood is the most successful winner to date. There are others who didn't even make the top three who ended up with huge careers, like Chris Daughtry and Jennifer Hudson. And Jennifer Hudson also won a flippin' Oscar!! That's pretty huge. Being the "winner" of American Idol these days really isn't all it's cracked up to be anymore.
