I always change the radio station when any of these are played, which unfortunately for me is a lot! Yay, my status is now "Supersonic"!!! Congrats on the Supersonic status..hmm..ya need 50, I have a long way to go. (I am not that chatty) I full on agree with your dislike of Nickelback. I am ashamed to say they are Canadian. YUK

Thanks curse_t_70! Don't worry, it took me ages as well! Giba - I haven't heard of Drake. The Nickelback song you love but couldn't remember - could it be "If Today Was Your Last Day"? I actually think that is a great song, the lyrics are excellent. It's just this singer's voice, it really hurts my ears!

Thanks Giba - I haven't been well the past few days and this really made me laugh! Especially this: "That's right -- these seventh-generation Pearl Jammers are set to whine and squall at halftime of the Lions' game against the Green Bay Packers on Thanksgiving Day, and the city of Detroit is not at all happy about it."

Whine and squall is right! Can't STAND THEM...I was listening to a local canadian station when I heard the anouncement and the djs said Canadians (in general) hate these guys but supposably they are HUGE internationally (Japan etc..) They mentioned they should have White Stripes rejoin and play or Aretha Franklin (didn't know she was from Detriot!

Just want to clarify that being Canadian has nothing to do with my dislike of Nickelback, curse_t_70!! Not that you thought that anyway! I love Canada, I was lucky enough to spend 3 months there in 1998, in Burlington, near Toronto. I also visited Vancouver for a long weekend while there. Very beautiful country! Would love to go back someday! And yes, Nickelback do appear to be huge internationally, Australia seems to love them! (Not this Australian though!)

Really? Aretha is the epitome of Detroit! (ever hear her talk?) But what an awesome voice... I don't care who they have, I'll be cooking and cleaning. Listening to "Alice's Restaurant" on the Radio!

(Haven't played it before) I visited Whistler too, can you believe it was the first and only time I've seen snow! (There wasn't much though as it was May, but I still got to have a snowball fight!) Just noticed something funny - I live in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia!

I don't think I could live in a city that snowed during Winter - I really hate cold weather/feeling cold!

So, the song I always give credit to Nickelback is: "It's Been a while" by Staind. Just love this song.

Don't think I've heard that one before Giba. I don't care much for Nicki Minaj, find her a bit annoying.

Had a listen and I didn't know that song. Maybe it didn't get played on radio here because of the cursing! Anyway, not my type of music!

So, what did the radio do about the cursing, or did they have a clean version of the song? Nickelback was on the radio before (as usual). What I can't understand is, how did that lead singer get a recording contract with a terrible voice like that?!

Ummm, well the cursing is cut out for the radio (clean version). I didn't really even notice the cursing! And it's not whining. He's pouring his heart out. It's just in a rock style! I think it's a man's way of singing sentimental words of an ex. It's the one band my friend and I can agree on!

Different strokes for different folks.......Jay knows how to pour his heart out in a song without whinning such as Blue Skies... BK's "Too afraid to love you"

I couldn't miss the cursing Giba, because the YouTube video you posted had lyrics!! The F word was used quite a bit!
