Re: Haute CuisineHey caroli (and all people
![]() ![]() ... France... let's go to Brittany !... I thought I just had to share the recipe of the famous "Far Breton" (in my opinion, it's the best recipe (or one of the best anyway...)).... so here it is : Far Breton Ingredients : -125g flour -100g sugar -2 eggs -1/3 L milk - butter, prunes (optional) Method : Mix together the flour, sugar and eggs (avoiding lumps). Little by little, add in the milk. Butter generously a dish ( I use a square dish measuring 20 x 20 cm) and pour the mixture into it. Scatter the prunes in the mixture and put 3 or 4 (big) knobs of butter over it. Bake in the oven at 180°C for 40-45 minutes ( ! keep an eye on your "far"...) Allow to cool before serving ( lukewarm or cold...) *It's a dessert... Enjoy !!! ![]() PS : ---> Has anybody got THE recipe of the best ever cookies ??? I know, I'm hard to please (in that case) but I'm also a bit fed-up, I've tried a thousand recipes... and never found the one... ![]() -----> caroli, do you speak french fluently ?? ------> I'd like to show how it looks like to you but I can't post a photo !!! Could anyone help me, please ??? ![]() Last edited by MissLisa_since1999 on Wed Nov 02, 2011 11:43 am, edited 2 times in total.

Re: Haute CuisineOooh! I like this thread! I'll have to post later!
But reading through, Who doesn't like avacado? It's like a comfort food! MMmmmmm! Just got to know how to prepare it! ![]()
Re: Haute CuisineFoooood!!! love cooking and eating! However...dutch food is really not my thing. I eat italian most of the time.
My favorite dish is Pasta alla Norma. It always lurs all my friends to my house...the table is full when they find out I am cooking up a pan of Pasta alla Norma ![]() Before I became a Vegetarian, this was my absolute favorite. Sicilian Swordfish! ![]()
Re: Haute Cuisineis that ricotta? on pasta alla norma?
capers....mmmm. I couldn't be vegetarian. ![]()
Re: Haute Cuisine
yep, it is Salty Ricotta. It is hard to get. There is a cheese guy here, that is a 2 hours drive away. I email him and he gets me the gold ![]() Being a vegetarian is easy! there is to much good food to discover. I have seriously eaten at expensive restaurant, where the people at my table got jalours at what was on my plate. If you see, read or find out how animals are being treated and get slaughtered, there is no way that you can consciencely eat meat. that and the fact that there doesn't need to be hungre in the world if people would just stop eating meat. All the grain that now goes to the animals that we eat, could go to the people that don't have any food. Meat is also the cause of nasty ilnesses, filled with hormons and Antibiotics. Do I miss Meat...sure! there is lots of things I truly love and miss. Like Pastrami, Breseola ( god I love that stuff) and mouthwatering carpaccio! I am not perfect yet, because I do sometimes eat non vegetarian cheeses and sometimes candy and yoghurt that is non vegetarian...I am not perfect, but I did stop wearing leather! Oh and I am not pale looking and weak in the knees. I have regular check ups being a blood donor and I am perfectly healthy!
