Re: Debut LondonOh I'm sorry! I'm lost in your obviously very intelligent private joke. Gave my opinion as I always do and I always will and Jamiroquai are miles away from funk. What else can I say? Ever heard Earth Wind and Fire? THAT'S funk...
Re: Debut London
agreed with you matey!
Re: Debut London@ Caroli
![]() George Clinton is from Parliament Funkadelic -Pure Funk! Nasty! I looovvee Earth, Wind, & Fire. Groovy Funk. Saw them in concert years ago! But as different as Black Eyed Peas are from Jamiroquai! But love them both!
Re: Debut London
Oh, 1993-1997 Jamiroquai was really hard funk, it was the best funk group ever! Yes, then they become to be shitty pop band, but now they back to old school sound, so actually new song doesn't fit. Sorry for bad english
Re: Debut LondonLet's come together on our thoughts. Love & Peace!
![]() Let's love the old Funk. Let's Love the new Groove. I think they've evolved, and moved their emphasis from Bass guitar to Lead guitar. This is the Pop/Rock feel. Lead is another voice.
Re: Debut LondonI just gave an opinion, actually shared by some Jamiroquai fans (other than me). One can't be judged for giving an opinion and I also refuse to change it without valid arguments...

Re: Debut London
that's correct mate! you just say whatever u want, we are not saying anything to all the people who loves the song! So, don't come you people who likes it to say that stuff to the ones do not! let's do this in peace! ![]()
Re: Debut LondonIntro sounded promising. Rest of the song was ok, but slightly disappointing considering the long wait and the... what's the word... GENERIC-NESS.
Devolved, you mean. The bass and the arrangements were always the driving force behind JQ's songs. Trying to push the guitar in the forefront is wrong. Wouldn't be if we weren't used to things being otherwise.
Re: Debut London@Caroli & Jameerica - Love you both! You make your presence at this website. I love JMQ! We love Jamiroquai!
![]() But -One song doesn't make it or break it. It is never going to be everything! I hear a smooth song in '"Rock, Dust, Light, Star" -with a lead guitar. \Maybe not what old Jamiroquai was, but may be now. Whether it be a new voice, or new style... Before -I only knew one album in U.S. from 1997. I'm happy to hear something new. I don't care if they are "Rock" or "Pop" or "Funk" but I sure will damn get everyone around me to hear the new stuff! ![]() Everyone that was with me tonight had to listen to them! ![]()
Re: Debut LondonThe problem isn't that it's not "oldskool" because it never could be, but the problem is that the song is like icecream when you take the cream, and the ice, out of it.

Re: Debut Londonso there is just the cone left?

Re: Debut London
I was thinking about it! ![]()
Re: Debut London
You could say that, I suppose ![]()
Re: Debut LondonOne of my best concerts ... and the new song is A M A Z I N G !! !!
Enjoy my pics !! ![]()
Re: Debut LondonI like ice cream.
I like cream. I like ice. I like cone. ![]()
Re: Debut LondonWe should respect everybody's opinion here at this site (or in life).
Everybody should be allowed to voice their opinion in a decent manner. And sometimes a discussion can come out of this! And Jamiroquai will have a new album out. Some will like it, some will not. They'll gain some new fans, and lose some old ones.
Re: Debut LondonNo one is saying the opposite here. Only that you were the one starting with this (no offense).. I just gave my opinion on the real hard funk thing...
And let me say this... the cone is often the best of the icecream mhan mhan! ![]()
Re: Debut LondonI think if you read the thread, everybody is negative about the new song.
FunkEd -no groove, not funky Manudevil -agrees with Funk Ed Tiffanypie -sees it as a Dynamite reject Absudas -says JMQ used to be hard funk 93-97, no longer funky And I totally agree with Caroli:
Yes, so I didn't criticize Caroli's thoughts, only made a sarcastic comment to the others: "What'd ya want, George Clinton?" (Who's great, by the way!) I'm sure Jamiroquai won't let us down on Funky grooves. I'm going to get some cone.
Re: Debut LondonHey! You forgot my cone!

Re: Debut London
Haha of course, Jamiroquai was supposed to be a Funk band, not a Pop/Dance/Rock thingy! haha But this is just one terrible song, we don't know what else is on the album! and i just will say, if the other tracks are like this one, Dynamite could be the last Jamiroquai album I buy! hahahaha I'm just looking for something like that "Runaway" they played in Abbey Road some years ago! and THAT WAS REALLY HARD FUNK! ![]()
Re: Debut LondonIf you really want, just slow down the new song and pump up the Bass!
Funk is just a slower, deeper groove!!! ![]() I see the love for speed in JMQ music. But check out their page on Facebook. Surprisingly they are labeled under Genre (hate labels) as Pop/Funk/Jazz/Disco Check this out song: Nasty Funk -makes ya wanna dance! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LuyS9M8T03A This should segway to a new topic...
