SCAM AND REVOLUTION 1993

Postby cb_painter on Sun Jun 12, 2011 4:37 pm

What do you think of those old Jamiroquai songs? They are two of my favourites, different from other songs, they are specials.
Loooong songs, serious, talking about social issues, not very attractive at first listenings, but having biiiiiiiig quality. I love both very much. Fully present, both musically and lyrics
They are like a long speech, but with precious and intense rythm changes.
SOMETIMES I THINK THE MUSIC IS THE ONLY HOPE WE HAVE FOR REVOLUTION, that is my hymn.

Did somebody say Revolution?
What are we revolting against? Humanity in general?

I think Scam is about the greed of people and all the wants.
A government that makes claims but actually takes away. In the end you are tied to it.
Exploitation of the poor by the wealthy. Disenchantment for society!

Revolution is the song that sounds like a Chili Pepper song!
Awesome drumming, almost like marching band music. Groovy bass.
Kids are growing up too soon and being exposed to so many things.
So much available but many don't have access. Challenging the establishment.
I can't help but think of Public Enemy's "Fight the Power"!

I absolutely love the words "sometimes I think the music is the only hope we have for a revolution".
So much has happened since 1993, and I think music played its part!

Thanks for your comments !!! I agree (sorry for my english, I'm Spanish). These songs are ways of removing consciences, but from the art, and this way it comes easier to the heart

Very tight!! His music sounds sooo much better in the smaller venues. If he plays @ the London jazz cafe again.. I will be there! Come hell or high water.
