Talk about the funk. Albums, singles, music videos, remixes, etc.|
To be honest yes. After listening to different things I would drop Jamiroquai on a corner...but then I have some epiphanies and I go back to them.
However the "Jamiroquai is the only thing I listen to" is way back and over...couldn't go there again even If I wanted to
maybe...sometime after spending a long period of time listening to jmq, i get bored and i start listening for other bands/singers instead. but then, some weeks later, i think to my self: "God! i really wanna hear a jamiroquai song right now..." and it starts all over again

I did sometimes .. like right now i'm cheating them with new band called Apparatjik, sometimes i cheated them with Underworld or Kasabian but then during that i have a moment like "I want some Canned Heat right now .." or " Talullah would be perfect at this time .." you know they're like my first husband i'll always come back to ..
Looooooong time ago. But I still think TROTSC is one of the best albums in the history of the universe and there are lots more tracks on other albums that I find awesome as stand-alones. And I love how their music is so ... remix-able. Seriously, I don't think there's more than five remixes that I don't like. So it's not like I got bored, more that I'm not really a fan no longer.
@ Black Capricorn Day --> Cheating on them! Too Funny. (I cheated with BEP's)
@ Jameerica -->I don't understand. You love the remixes, but not a fan of Jamiroquai?
Not a fan of the music? Do you mean current music? Or not a fan of the Band?
So you're here for conversation only?
You can definitely overplay something (Ex-Michael Jackson) and be sick of it.
But he's still got some great music.
The thing is that some of us (not me but her most surely) are here for some time now and that initial fangirling thing kind of disappears... I cheated them with L'Arc~en~Ciel and more recently with The Dandys...shame on me!
Of course, sometimes I abuse the band and listen them so much! haha
then I end getting bored about it! but it works to stop listening for a while, and then FEVER again! haha
Not a fan, but do like a big portion of the music
AFO is a disaster, the definition of inconsistence. Of all their "electronic" albums, Synkronized is the only good one. In fact, I think it's the second best JMQ album, right after TROTSC
AFO is not that bad, but I think there's too many electronic sounds on it.
And how come you have 14.260 post in 5 years?
(Amira?) is here for conversation. Obviously!
But Critical of the music. Critical of the Artist.
How could you really follow an artist entirely? They always go off on different directions. Our tastes change. Even for the best artists.
I didn't hear the following albums til 2009, but I love them!
Here's my favorites:
>Canned Heat, Black Capricorn Day, Falling, Supersonic, Butterfly, &Where Do We go From Here
A Funk Odyssey
>Feels So Good, Little L, You Give me Something, Love Foolosophy, & Picture of my Life
> Feels Just Like it Should, Dynamite, Electric Mistress, The World that He Wants, Black Devil Car
You've got some grooves, disco, pop, electro, and rock.
I think that being a fan of someone doesn't have to mean that you always have to like what they do. It's more about the feeling of anticipation, seeing what they come up with next. I used to be a fan of JMQ, but I'm not any longer. Sure, I will be glad to hear the new album, but it's not no.1 on my list anymore.
Onto the albums, I didn't like AFO because, as I said, it was inconsistent: some songs I found really, really good (Feels so good, Corner of the Earth), while others were a letdown (Stop don't panic, Little L, Main Vein), while others still were just ... lukewarm. Dynamite, at least, was consistently bad I really loved most of the Dynamite instrumentals, though.
4-5 years ago I had way too much time on my hands!
We decide our music love.
One love today can be a turnoff tomorrow!
Boredom can be inevitable! No music stays on top. It always drops out eventually.
But going back to music, like memories can be great. Like a security. From childhood.
@ Jameerica : i understand what you mean, darl
For me, i never had a confidence to say that i'm a big fan of JMQ , because comparing to you all people my knowledge about JMQ is like a corner of your pinkie,i know them just above the surface, i do love the music (sowww much)and always anticipated what's coming next from them but i don't know much every details from them like their root or everything, doesn't even effect me when Stuart leave , they evolved, every band experience that . listening their music already make me happy.
So instead of having a responsibility being a hard fan, for my safety i will say i am a light/medium fan (now what is that ? )
@ Jameerica: Now I'm understand about what do you mean (the "inconsistent" of AFO). I think it's a good album but not the "great" album we want.
And let me correct this one: First time I visit this forum and saw how many posts you have I thought you're a "loyal" fan who knows everything.
You make me remember about skin tones But I think I'm a medium fan too.
Talking here is the best part of the forum... If not about Jamiroquai about something else... About Dynamite...well...it's quite strange but I actually like it Not my favourite at all but not so bad... totally love Seven Days in Sunny June
I NEVER get bored of them . They are in every part of my body, every cell, every hair and the fake stuff, in my heart, spewing from my soul is the greatness of Jamiroquai! Maybe that's why I'm so nice and carefree. I need them at work, cuz I can't stand hearing the blah supermarket music for 8 hours. I find myself with a slight attitude if I don't hear them.
@ TiffanyPie - Happy you're so nice and happy! JMQ does help feed good inside!
@ Caroli -I really love Dynamite!
@ Jameerica (and others) If you dissect anything, or overplay music, or look too closely (at anything), everything has flaws.
Every musician (for me) has areas in their music that are weak, and areas that are strong. I just live with the flaws if their strength is worth it! And each album is more like a work of art, flaws and all.
For me, it isn't about being the biggest fan either. kinda dorky!
