I thought I would make an attempt that starting a new 'series of discussion topics' celebrating next year's grand 20th Anniversary of the music of Jamiroquai. For the first topic, I thought we could discuss what we all think Jamiroquai's 'Best Single' release was. Now, given they had probably the 'best single catalogue' in the beginning to end of the 'Britpop' era of popular music, the criteria I'm judging the best single by is by cover art/B-Sides. So to start this first topic off, my choice for the best jami single release is no question their 1993 UK single release of 'Emergency On Planet Earth'. Sporting a killer single cover of the optimistic image of planet earth and equally impressive B-Sides including the breath-taking 10 minute 'Revolution 1993' demo, the live Jami acoustic rendition of the MTV Wanted recording of 'If I Like It, I Do It' and finishing off with a slightly neat extended version of the single song. There were other obvious great singles in my consideration but I leave the topic to you, please post your thoughts on what your fav Jamiroquai single release of the past was and I look forward to reading all your posts. Cheers!
Of course "Virtual Insanity" would win because it had success across the entire world. And this is my first song I knew by them. It also is a great tune. But this would be the predictable one.
Many fans will choose a song from the 'true' or original Jamiroquai.
But for me, it's crazy but I find the song "The World that He Wants" as very exceptional.
Something about the way it's written, and delivered, and its meaning. chills!
and I must say, the piano by Matt Johnson is just exquisite.
it's kinda like Marvin's "Mercy, Mercy Me", which is my favorite Marvin Gaye tune.
it's very deep and dark. A question of humanity.
also love how everybody thinks their album is defective in mono in the beginning!
maybe it stands for a single voice.
well, I do like "Canned Heat".
It is the dancing song! "Dance, yeah"
"I got Canned Heat in my heals tonight, baby!" So true and good. Perfect.
It's about the expression of the frustrations of life danced away.
Some people go to the bars to drink their troubles away.
And some people go to dance their troubles away.
And some do both for a jolly good time!
and the song takes a twist at the end and shows the soul side. my favorite part.
quite a unique tune, no other song like it.
I read it has a Motown influence too!

High Times singles live performances.
I really like "Corner of the Earth" live better.
And Jay really should produce new music showing his soul voice skills.
So Jamiroquai Columbia has posted today as the day for Jamiroquai's original release on the Acid Jazz Label. The song "When You Gonna Learn"
