Jazz Cafe, Camden.FANTASTIC !!!
What more can I say. The band were great, for a live performance where you know every note and phrase will be studied and listened to by "Suits" as well as fans, their interaction within pulled off one of the tightest live performances I have seen in a long while. Seeing a live horn section back with the band also added that extra special sound that has been missing for quite a while. Hearing all the old GREAT tracks as well as some of the new, made the night a memorable one for everyone there. Jay's interaction with the audience even in front of the camera was great and relaxed, I know he may say different, but we all loved it. Well done guy's, what a performance! Looking forward to the next phase of Jamiroquai.

Hi everyone, here's a message about the Jazz Cafe concert...
Jamiroquai's message to fans after Jazz Cafe gig | 26.10.2006 A message for fans' after last night's Jazz Cafe gig: "Thanks to everyone who came down to the gig at the Jazz Cafe last night. We had a brilliant night and hope you did too. The atmosphere was fantastic! If you weren't able to get a ticket hopefully you were able to tune in on 1Xtra, if not there are highlights on Radio 1 and BBC 3 over the next few days. You can also watch the full set online at the BBC Electric Proms website. Thanks for all your support, as always, it means so much" Jamiroquai Source: Jamiroquai.com SAMANTHA
Here's a review of the event...
A too-well-buried national treasure Jay Kay confirms his status as Britain's only funky white man They may have sold 20 million albums but these are unsettling times for Jamiroquai. This Christmas, a greatest-hits set should confirm leader Jay Kay's status as Britain's only funky white man, but, as his smilingly delivered but icy barbs against his record company underlined, his band's momentum seems to have stalled as frustratingly as one of his vintage cars. No matter. Last night Jamiroquai's contribution to the BBC Electric Proms series was an opportunity for the 12-strong ensemble to fill the Jazz Café's tiny stage and cut loose. Kay, dressed in a woolly hat and tracksuit top, revelled in the small setting: those record company moans aside, he was in genial form and, contrary to popular perception, impossible to dislike. And, for all his nonsense about "being an old man, now", once he shed the tracksuit, he danced like a dervish, despite panting that "death cannot be far away now" after an especially vigorous If I Like It, I Do It. Kay sweated star quality, but his drones provided a supertight backdrop that had hints of Roy Ayers on a luxuriously extended Canned Heat, while the floorquaked to Black Capricorn Day and the jaunty Seven Days In Sunny June was layered with waves of soulful sunshine. Mostly, they sounded like nobody on earth; Kay's frequent approximation of Stevie Wonder notwithstanding. A too-well-buried national treasure. Thanks to: Funkin.com SAMANTHA
Here's another article...
Caught live: Jamiroquai JAY KAY returned to the tiny London venue he played 15 years ago as one of the early treats of the BBC season. His huge live band – with brass and backing singers – almost outnumbered the crowd which, incidentally, included Star Wars actress NATALIE PORTMAN. Jay couldn’t suppress a huge grin throughout his 90-minute show that left him sweating profusely under his woolly hat. It was a greatest hits set to reflect his new CD collection out soon. He started with High Times and threw in Space Cowboy and Emergency On Planet Earth. JAMIROQUAI could sell out an arena anywhere in the world, so this was a real treat. He told me backstage: “It’s strange being so close to the crowd. But it was fantastic. It was great to be back here. Source: http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,4-2006490704,00.html SAMANTHA

I love the photo too. Every time I pointed the camera that way, Fra would look round and give a huge smile ![]() ![]() Of the photos I took, I send a number to the bands management who select a few for the website, and I'm really glad they liked this shot so that its now on the site. I also love the "wide angle" one, with the fans on the left, and the band on the right. I think that's the first one in the gallery on the website. Makes the lens almost worth buying!!! (it wasn't cheap!).
Re: Jazz Cafe, Camden.
