Did you see the band perform in 2008? If so, tell us all about it here... Post your photos, set-lists, stories and more...|
Aww wish i could go, im only 16 ive never seen jamiroquai Live but id love to. Everyone going to the show in Seoul Is lucky. just wish Jay Kay would come to Canada Sometime :D
maybe she hasn't put her feet on the ground yet!
maybe he had a hart attack!
maybe is still looking at the roof with a big big smile on her face remembering that special moment.
Here I am! I just got up! I had a late night and remember I am not as young as you guys.
What can I say? It was beautiful. It was amazing (and a bit surreal) to see them live after watching the videos all this time. The performance was perfect. They put on a great show and we were a great audience! Jay Kay sounded great and danced a lot! Paul Turner was just awesome especially for Space Cowboy! I was happy about that! I can't say anymore than it was just a great show! And no they didn't play any new songs...Just some variations on the old ones.
I didn't scream and go as crazy or faint as I thought I would. I just really enjoyed the music and just danced. That's just the kind of band they are!
Unfortunately I had to work the day of the concert and I rushed over as soon as I could. My daughter arrived earlier and got her spot but we were on opposite sides of the stage and couldn't meet until after the show. She took some great videos. I'll post them later. I took some photos. And no Jameerica I didn't use a flash so they are not the greatest photos. Everytime he came over to our side of the stage I was too excited to take a photo.
After the concert was over we were well satisfied but I was still slightly determined to see if I could actually somehow meet the band. We walked around the building and there on the side were parked several beautiful Audis. Those must be for the band I thought. So we just waited across from them. There were some other fans but not many hanging around on the other side. Finally after some time I could see Rob...and then Paul and then Jay!!!
As Jay walked over to the car I walked toward his car. Then we were told by the escorts that we must stand on the other side of the railing if we wanted to meet Jay. So we walked over and there he was right in front of me. He shook everyone's hand. And when he shook mine all I could muster up to say (quite calmly) was, "Hi I'm Seoul Education." And he said, "Oh, so you're Seoul Education." He looked good but a bit tired. And then he was ushered off to the car and I just waved goodbye as they drove away.
I must say Jay's hands are really soft
Unfortunately, I looked absolutely dreadful because I had been all sweaty from the concert and my hair was a mess. Remember that thread about "What would you say to Jay Kay if you met"...well none of those things came to mind.
So Jay if you are reading this...I really wanted to say thank you for coming to Seoul. I told you you wouldn't be disappointed. You guys were great and I had the best time. Please come again!
And there you have it!
YAY - so glad that you had a great time and that you were able to meet some of the guys - and what a compliment that Jay knew your name - lucky thing!!!!!
PS: Thanks for the photos
My daughter earned her ticket by taking these videos Enjoy!
Glad you had lots of fun! WITHOUT using flashes!
Good girl! Trust me, they're all good, just that one was sort of grainy.
LUCKY YOU!! Maybe one day I will say "Hello I'm Caroli.. nico to meet you!" and he will say: "ah so you are Caroli..!!" ahaha
Great photos.. I would love to post some of the Rock in Rio and some video too but I can't post nothing.. I'm just awful with computers!!
Yeah I was very lucky! Not sure what Jay meant in his response, but I was quite embarrassed afterwards. Why did I say that? Why didn't I say this instead? Oh well.
I read on the Korean fan site that after the concert they went to the same club where I saw the Brand New Heavies. My first guess was that they would have partied at the W Hotel. My second guess was that they would have gone to the DJ Shadow gig across town.
Here is the set list but not quite in this order. I'm doing this from memory.
Seven Days in Sunny June
Black Capricorn Day
Use the Force
Travelling without Moving
