whats going on with the styling of music

Postby smokinHawk on Thu May 05, 2005 1:09 pm

with the music, im hoping they arnt making the trend to go away from their orginal styling of music.. The new single doesnt sound like them. what i heard, might be from the quaility of the video, but that doensnt even sounds like Jays voice.
the band is missing it, very weak Its rythem and flow of the music is to narrow.
i miss the days of traveling with out moving and synkronized.
i really miss the horns, strings and digroo durring their early years.
it seems like their going away from funk/acid jazz, and turning into narrow rock.
least i hope its just that song on the album

just trying to add some constructive critism.

i cant wait to hear the new album, just hope im not disappointed!

yea they have added kind of a techno feel to their recent albums instead of pure jazz/funk/R&B. I still like it though. :D

just listened to the whole dynomite album, aint to bad, but not the best. its seriously lacking engery. i have to agree to much cumputerized music and not enough real insurments.

the back ground singers made me feel like i was at soul train or something, very unoriginal style, just the sytle of the early 70s whatever.
a little disapointed.

definatly ditch the gback ground singers, to much "soul"

I agree that Dynamite is very different to the early days of Emergency On Planet Earth (those of you who are true Jam fans should have a copy of this CD). I do think that EOPE made the band and set their way of sound and style but I also think that everybody progesses through their musical career (or totally goes off track in some cases). Take The Prodigy for example, I've followed them from a very young age as well, got all the CDs, etc. They sound completely different now from 13 years ago! From what I remember The Prodigy came out around the same time as Jam, two totally different styles of music and yet I still listened!

There is not one track from any of the Jam CDs that I don't like. I could listen over and over again - so unique and so so talented. Dynamite is probably the way forward for the band and I certainly don't think its a bad thing. Lets all just keep supporting and loving the vibes.

jamiroquai have changed ive heard all of their songs and im liking them
not the best album in my opinion but still good. they seemed to hav changed their style of music. ill still like them if they changed but i loved their old songs specially the tunes from EOPE album i just hope they dont change completey. bit too much soul in their music they should lose the backing and do more of their original music. :)
