Hi guys,

I wanted to tell you about John Thirkell, amazing
trumpet performer .

John Thirkell is Jamiroquai trumpet player who recorded
trumpet on Jamiroquai debut album "Emergency On Planet Earth", 1993
and went on tour with Jamiroquai in 1993.

An interesting fact is that he played trumpet on cool George Michael's song "Spinning The Wheel"
from "Older" album (1996) (also released as a single)

John Thirkell is one of my most favourite trumpet and flugelhorn players in the world.

its the second case when Jamiroquai and George Michael have the same band members - another one is G Michael ex bassist Paul Turner who now is Jamiroquai bassist.

John Thirkell a topnotch.. player.. I met him once when he played for Level 42.. excellent sound..

Thanks for posting that picture HT... I've never seen nor heard of John THirkell before. I'll have to get a copy of High Times..

Spinning the wheel...am listening to online right now...nice trumpet! downtempo...very loungy...nice...love to hear that mellow sound...that's an impressive list..

I never knew Paul Turner played bass for GM. This is the first I've even heard of the Ladies & Gentlemen album
