I think I know what she means - that his stardom has made him think that he is above ordinary people

yes, something like it.
Star's illness - this is when the well-known person forgets about everything, becomes self-enamoured, forgets about fans and starts to become impudent. Money become more and more, the life becomes more and more glamur, and interest to music gradually vanishes. Vivid example to that - Britney Spears, from the money she has already gone mad.
Recently at Russian forum 99-th year have been laid out by interview. In interview I have read, that the contract with sony has been signed only with Jay and therefore money paid only to him, and then he already divided this money with musicians, but he divided them not fifty-fifty, to itself took away much more. And on it, because of Jay's greed has left group Zender.
I don't know the truth it or not. My father too listens jamiroquai and when I to him have allowed to read this clause, he began to speak, that at Jay has begun star's illness :?
On it I have decided to create this theme.
Sorry for my bad english

Hmm.. Well I don't know much about star illness.. Just that money can make people go mad and they get so spoiled.. Musicians who use to make good music don't care and make crappy music instead.. and that is real bad.. can't they just make music with "soul" damn

i don't think he has this condition at all

really guys come on

he has one heavy spiritual crisis going on though
for anyone who's felt the same way the clear space for advancing thought can be stolen and it hurts constantly
for an idealist or dreamer or whatever you want to call one who's faith in themselves can still be rocked the nature of todays cynicism undermines completely

I take my words back. But I had only assumptions. He is so simply, without star's illness, without pathos, without glamur, he is cool man 8)
All what he have, he all has deserved own work, he such the sweet

i'm sorry i don't mean to tell you your wrong at all jeena
it is important to discuss it i think
corporate dollars are destroying the world - and as plain and simple as it should be with someone like jay who has always stood for what is right the direction is lost somehow - i've felt the same way

l think is more tha just money issue...
at the end of the day is all about fame...
you give fame to a regular person, is a normal ar simple person, who live his life like everyone else, and the you over exposse that person to a lot of new situations, and lies, and give them a lot of responsability, you create a roll model, and in the same way you can destroy it, like mmmm... pewey sherman !lol!.. or britney, she was arole model, and all that (virging, sex symbol, singer... mother, drunk) and the press comes and bang, destroy her, just because she makes mistakes, and famous people are not aloud to "have" errors or mistakes...

    l dont know!

yes they are allowed to make mistakes. the thing is, that we think famous people should be 'perfect' and we can't stand even the littlest mistake from them.

This is wrong. It's the opposite; we pretend to expect them to be perfect but actually hope they'll do wrong so that we can direct our thoughts away from our miserable failures to THEIR miserable failures!
