Here's the news item from JMQ.com

Jay's beloved dog, Luger | 31.01.2007

We were all saddened to hear that one of Jay's beloved dogs, Luger, had to be put to sleep yesterday following an ongoing illness. The ten year old German Sheperd suffered from Motor Neurone disease. He was always there to greet guests at the house and was a permanent fixture in the studio where Jay rehearsed and recorded. He will be sorely missed by everyone.

Source: JMQ.com

What can I say, but my heart goes out to Jay. Everyone knows how much he loved his doggies. He must be so sad - but what a great dad he was to Luger, he gave him so much love. I just feel so much for Jay and of course Titan :(

Hi all, I was lucky enough to meet Luger once back last summer, he was using wheels on his back legs, like a doggy wheelchair, lovely chap. Im sure Jay will be gutted for some time. :(

Unfortunately in our life we have to face the loss of what it's most loved and near; it's the rule of life's game.
We lose a piece of our soul, but in those moments, the most important thing, is that we can reform that piece with memory.
This wont leave us.

Souls disappear, but they always leave a mark in our hearts.

Rest in peace Luger.

I think Black Crow 88 did put down some nice words...for I find it always hard to find the right words in this matter.
My husband and I had to put down an old and loyal dog today as well (we're both vets), we helped to burry the old chap, it was all mud and it was raining, very sad really.
It really brings you down to what life on this planet is all about: life, death and rebirth.
Seeing his age and what this dog went through, he must have had a hughe will to live. He must have been a wonderfull and good friend.
I'm really sorry for those that loved him and I wish them strength and currage in the next moths. For time does heal (more or less).
And for Luger: a good rebirth...
