Well, Nobody should disagree with #1. And a main influence to Prince.
But so many above him are simply older innovators!
(Not everybody knows Frank Zappa).

Trust me, my argument about Rolling Stones Magazine is that their staff must be retirement age, or true oldskool appreciators. Almost nobody makes the cover unless they're 50 or older!
They switched up to more political & entertainment stories (movies) and music takes a back seat.
(I've sent them my thoughts!)

Pete Townsend #10
Mark Knopfler # 44, (I'm embarrassed to say, not sure what band he's from!) Dire Straights -looked up!

Lots of blues guitarists ->Chuck Berry, B.B. King, Freddie King, Albert King, Buddy Guy, & Bo Diddley.
And one female -> Bonnie Raitt!

haha! now you feel bad knowing Eddie's there!

I think Van Halen really suffers today from David Lee Roth's tights. Ewwyuck!
I was never a VH fan. And today DLR look like a clown.
But Eddie was talented!

So I just finished watching the documentary called It might get loud......featuring the very different styles of Jack White, the Edge and Jimmy Page. Highly recommended. I love seeing artists getting together talking about their art and appreciating their differences.......and a very nice jam at the end. Very cool 8)

Rolling Stone Magazine just posted the 500 top albums.
So the Beatles made 4 out of the top 10!
But Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On" was #6. Here My Dear # 456
Nirvana Smells Like Teen Spirit # 17!
Jackson's Thriller was #20 and Off the Wall was 68.
Captain Beefheart # 60 (who? --The Black Keys' Favorite)
Queen A day at the Opera #231
RHCP Blood Sugar Sex Majik # 310
The White Stripes Elephant # 390.

And boy, it really shows they are a Rock magazine.
