Talk about music - songs/albums that you love, and the ones that you don't.

Yep, like this one: Of course, they're only filled with gunpowder, wouldn't want people getting hit with cannonballs, haha. Now to make it seem less like I ruin every topic by going Offtopic, here's something funky for ya: Summer RainMore jazz than funk, but still hella funky. It's instrumental music, featuring virtuosos on piano, bass and drums, so if you don't feel like that, don't listen.

Oh I'm going off-topic again...I'll go mudik (it means go to my hometown, a common tradition in Indonesia) for a few days from now on. It means I'm away from computer & internet for a few days.

Awesome list Feliz! Let me add:
“Bra” – Cymande…..listen for the break at 2:50 into the song. The greatest break of all time.
“I Got My Mind Made Up” – Instant Funk
“Dance Floor” – Zapp …shake, shake it baby!
“Disco Circus” – Martin Circus…yes it’s disco, but it’s funky too!
“Strategy” – Archie Bell and the Drells
“Thighs High” – Tom Browne
“Cameosis” – Cameo
“Time To Get Down” – The O’Jays
“Rock Steady” – Aretha Franklin
“Lady Cab Driver” – Prince
“Mainline” - Black Ivory
“ Can’t Let Her Get Away” and “Jam” – The King of Pop : - ) …Michael Jackson
“Make It Funky”, “Night Train” and “Cold Sweat” – funky, funky broadway! The one and only James Brown
“P-Funk (Wants To Get Funked Up)” – Parliament/Funkadelic
“Party Lights” and “Spice of My Life” – Slave
I'm sure these last two aren't considered funk, soul or disco : - )...but I've added them anyway:
“Shaft” – Isaac Hayes
“Theme From S.W.A.T” – Rhythm Heritage
FIYA.....sing like the "Ohio Players" sing fire in their song "Fire" : )

Feliz, both songs are hot! You may not believe this but "Street Player" is on a few mixed house/club cd's I have!! You're in NYC so you should be able to appreciate this....picture it..."Street Player" being sold in downtown Newwark, NJ I bet the members of "Chicago" would get a kick outta knowing we're jamming to "Street Player" along with "Run Away" by the SalSoul Orchestra! and "When Can Our Love Begin" by Kimora Love! That's funny to me

Three songs (and one commercial): 1) Glukoza - Schweine Complete nonsense, but showcases perfectly something that I adore about Russian (and other Slavic languages) - its incredible rhythm. Besides, fun to listen to while cruising the streets of Liberty City 2) L'Arc~en~Ciel - Metropolis They may very well be the most secondhand-embarrassment-inducing band of all time but... they have their moments. This song is one of them. Besides, had to pimp my fav band somewhere on here (not that I haven't tried before). 3) Moloko - Cannot contain this I'll just say that I very much doubt there are many performers out there who feel more of their music than Roisin, and let the music say the rest. And now the commercial - I know it's not a song, but it sure is a fav of mine and quite funky.

Eschoendorff -Totally Funky! Love "Round in Circles" Billy Preston. Jameerica -thanks for showing the music you like. Only heard of L'arc En Ciel from Caroli. We get to see your version of what a DILF is. And yeah, hanging out with Darth Vader would be cool.

And remember this from 1998? More R&B than funk, but still... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nA0Z795mkMkIf you don't pay attention to the lyrics, it comes across as an innocent little R&B song. If you listen to the lyrics, it's rather, umm... well, I would not play this around kids.

You're welcome! If you'd joined the forum a couple months earlier than you did, you'd be bombarded with it unwillingly And no you didn't get to see my definition of DILF. I mean, it's the same man alright, but it's complicated to explain Let's just say that the dude has more facets than is mentally healthy and each one is completely different from the other in attitude and as different in appearance as physically possible, being that they're the same person. The best part of the commercial for me is the little girl reaching up to poke at his facemask I had a sort of immediate liking towards the video. I wouldn't be able to advertise the thing better myself

Save you? What were they (JMQ) doing to you? The way I see it, you've just added another band to your collection!
