What are you listening now?

Talk about music - songs/albums that you love, and the ones that you don't.

haha I edit too
I youtubed Golden Lady!
they didn't do part 2 of Superwoman in the concert.

I know most of Steve's (my new name for him) music from my radio!
I know "Isn't she lovely" & "Rocket Love" (never knew what he was saying though!)
but not "you got it bad girl"

I bought a Steve Wonder album in the 80's after I joined a record club,
and received In square Circle and was disappointed
but that concert shows what a true talent he is.

I love Cheryl Lynn:

:-) yes I will more than even edit posts; I will just delete everything I wrote.

I have never heard of Cheryl Lynn till you but heard "got to be real" before. It's in movies and on tv quite a bit. The intro to "Encore" reminds of the intro to "Little L"; also Patrice Rushen's (sp?) "Forget me nots" reminds a lot of "Little L" with the clap clap.

Mmmm - "Golden Lady" is very good - it's upbeat, happy; it makes me think of sunshine and a golden sunset.

I am still mostly playing Al Green these days for some reason I cannot comprehend. Have you ever heard the story about Al Green and the hot grits? You know, I do not even know if it is true, but my father said that before Al Green became a preacher his woman poured hot grits on him because he was cheated or did something wrong. haha! I will probably have to delete this later (it just popped into my head :-) and this probably how false rumours get started)

Cheryl Lynn & Patrice Rushen both had a few big hits here. Yes someone compared "Little L" to "Forget Me Nots" -Rushen's big hit here.
Haven't heard the long "Encore" version in a long time.

I googled Al Green! seems to be a true story ! too bad for him! Green is Blue!
http://www.history.com/this-day-in-hist ... wn-bathtub

So I've heard the story goes, Gospel singers are not supposed to go pop and make it big in $ & popularity -goes against their faith. Aretha Franklin went back and did a Gospel album after she'd made it big.

Our sunsets are getting earlier and earlier :(

Oh my, "Blue in Green" - Miles Davis - is my song. Even if you are not a jazz fan, please listen to it - colors in music is hard to capture. Yet, some artists manage it so well.

Mmmmm (means I am pondering what you wrote btw) - totally blank also btw :-).

I dislike google - I was just at a place Ron Jeremy (sp???) frequented and low and behold, he was there and my married friend was freaking out and wanted a pic. Her husband was not happy but now, I am both dying not to know and still google him to find out what the BIG - literally - fuss is all about.

Music tonight - "Owner of a Lonely Heart" by Yes (love this song); "Remedy" (Black Crows) and lots of Led Zeppelin. After the second grey goose & tonic, I stopped listening :-)

pondering about which part?
don't trust google -don't know about the "why" but maybe the "pouring of grits" is true!
Green is Blues is an album, which has fond memories, on a St. Patty's Day!
Is Blues in Green meant to have a voice?

I know a bunch of music played on my Detroit radio in the 80's. Didn't really learn the artists til recently: Rushen & Lynn ;)

\haven't a clue who Ron Jeremy is!

Grey Goose is good! I like vodka with lime juice & triple sec on ice.
the sweetest drinks I'll have is bourbon. I had it mixed with St. Germaine and I don't even know wtf that is!

Mmmm never heard of Al Green's - "Green in Blues" till you. I saw the track listing and only recognized "Summertime" - which has been covered a lot.

In Miles Davis' "Blue in Green" - his trumpet says even more than what words could express. It is on his "Kind of Blue" album - I believe Coltrane, Cannonball Adderly (sp?), Bill Evans are on the album. The lore/legend of this top selling jazz album (according to my father :-) was that the album was created quickly in the cab on the way to the studio. I should put it on now but sometimes I need a voice :-).

Awwwh Ron Jeremy (sp) - yes I only heard of him recently. Apparently he has a very big . . . .erm member and was known for starring in those certain kind of films :-). I have never watched his . . . I am thinking a Boogie Nights like figure - hahaha.

Yeah it is LA, so you run into "celebrities" (loathe this word) a lot but not a male porn star. haha! Oh wow - I met Quincy Jones this summer and it made my summer. I felt touched by something ethereal - Quincy Jones - he was sunshine. I was literally high hours after we met. We talked about him playing jazz in Switzerland - his eyes just sparkled with love, light. I feel "validated" as a woman having had him even checking me out and talking to me - I mean Quincy Jones who has pick of the most beautiful women in the world. I apologize for being vain but it was a huge boost. I meet a lot of celebs and normally ignore them or could care less, but meeting Quincy had the most spiritual effect on my soul. Love him always and so grateful for his contributions to music.

I will buy the Miles Davis album. I have 3 on my list. So did they create the concept for 'Kind of Blue' or the entire album in the car ride?! I love the trumpet sound.

as for 'adult films', it's not really my thing, or maybe I haven't seen enough! But it doesn't offend me. My friend had a party once played a gay film, which was interesting cuz: 2 guys. It's always good for comparisons. :P (I hope this is clean enough)

Quincy Jones is a fantastic man! Glad he was enamored of you!

someone today brought up Tool, so I played Undertow & 26 x 2.

Oh my, I tried to share earlier but my IPhone does not let me; maybe the Iphone6 I will get this month will be better.

"As" by Stevie Wonder - on "Songs in the Key of Life"; I had forgot about this gem but I was listening to other Steve songs (thanks to you Giba :-) and my IPhone kept playing his albums. My Dad would play this for me a lot - it is, perhaps, lyrically and theoretically one of the best songs I know. The lyrics are quite something.

haha! I do not even need adult films; my imagination is quite dirty enough.

"Girl from Ipanema" - Stan Getz with Joao and Astrud Gilberto on vocals.

Just gonna let the entire "Stan Getz Bossa Nova" Masters album play till I am out. The album is Getz performing bossa nova with the mellowest, restrained, subtle sax performance and the soft voices Joao and Astrud.

Sweet dreams music. Now, it is on "Desafinado" . . . with Joao Gilberto. Nite. Lovely.

Eminem "So Far" talks about the challenge of being famous I guess!

the chorus to this one is so sweet! "Knocks me off my feet"

Interesting - Thelma Houston's "Don't Leave Me This Way" - something so vulnerable, touching about the song. I have liked it for awhile - it is in a Spike Lee film with Adrien Brody (where I first heard it). "Summer of Sam" I think.

It reminds me of Donna Summers' (Sp?) "Last Dance" also a 70s disco - sweet - song.
