Talk about concerts promoting the Rock Dust Light Star album in 2010 and beyond...|
Rob Harris tweeted on 12/11/11:
"It seems we may be playing a new years eve show in Sydney."
OMG - I'm feeling very excited that Jamiroquai could be performing in Sydney on NYE!
Looks like I might be planning a trip to Sydney, but hopefully this means JMQ might finally tour Australia. Fingers crossed!

CosmicLea -didn't remember -where are you?
I'm surprised they'll hit Sydney! I imagine it's a lot to lug the equipment, maybe a small tour.
I was thinking the tour ends in December. \But I hope they are still travelling!
And maybe still have Hope, they'll hit the states.
Lucky dog!!!!! cosmiclea...I'd be happy 4 you though.
Giba7 - I'm in Melbourne, 12 hour drive or 1 hour plane trip to Sydney.
Haha thanx! But it doesn't look likely I'll be able to go. Had a look for accommodation on wotif.com yesterday and there's not much for NYE in Sydney and what is available is mega expensive! And the tickets for this event are expensive too ($A198).
Well, it looks like this is true anyway, Jamiroquai look set to perform in Sydney on New Years Eve - woohoo!
I'll see what I can do, I would really love to be there.
Yep, that would be the way to go!
But at almost $200 a ticket, it's still going to be expensive. And I just found out that it is an Over 18 years of age event - don't want to be away from my kids on NYE.
Ahhh that's a good mum!....they grow up sooo fast..mine are 8 and 10 (I would probably get a babysitter for THAT night) how old are they? Ya, 200 a ticket is pretty steep. What an amazing show though, Pet shop boys, Culture club... both from my generation. I think I am going to send out a cosmic wish to the stars and buy a lottery ticket (I don't usually buy them but...)I'll treat you if I win!
Curse_t -are you hanging out with the Black Keys? (sleeping in vans!)
Cosmiclea -$200? you'll be saving funds -no hotel! Or you could find a place 20 minutes out.
And even if it was an under 18 event, I would never bring my kids out, especially on New Year's Eve! Because I'd want to have fun!
I hope you can work something out to go, though.
Yes and NO Giba7....No I have not been inside the Black Keys van but I have frequented a few vans in my day..most memorable was spending time with The Descendants back in 1991 outside a gig in Vancouver....ah the mind wanders!
Ah, very disappointing not to seem them do a full Oz tour though. NYE is Sydney, no thanks.
Come on guys, complete the tour. You've done Melbourne a number of times before. The one at the Myer Music Bowl was an absolute cracker.
Please come back this way
@curse_t - that is so sweet, you made me smile!
There is a competition to win tickets (I have entered):
To get guaranteed seating in the first 5 rows, tickets are $598! (And this is where I'd really wanna be )
But how's this for a line-up:
Gates : 2.00pm
Opening act Lyndsey Ollard : 4.00pm
Pseudo Echo : 5.00pm
Guy Sebastian : 6.00pm
Pet Shop Boys: 7.30pm till 9.00pm
Family Fireworks : 9.00pm till 9.20pm
Jamiroquai : 10.00pm till 12.00 midnight

Culture Club : 12.20 till 1.45am
Close : 3.00am
Bringing in the new year after watching a live Jamiroquai performance? I couldn't think of anything more perfect!
@honkin - Yes I agree with you, Jamiroquai, please come to Melbourne too, pretty pretty please!
Fun times, eh? (did you get the eh?)
Check out this ad for TBK! I did call the # and it's Patrick's voice!

As for Sydney, Jamiroquai's the best band to count the year down to!
Australia, certainly is way to far for me.
Ouch! that was below the belt...this Canadian doesn't say "eh",..... but I must admit I use the word "yep" too much.
Here's an advertisement about the concert:
Looks great - I better go buy a lottery ticket too!
@curse_t -I hope I didn't offend with the "eh". Don't know if it applies to a certain class!
We actually say it sometimes, I mean we're just over the border!
I always wanted that dual-citizenship!
@Giba7- offended I am not, .... just got to let the beaver out for a pee before I retire to the comfort of my igloo
@ CosmicLea. Well, I didn't win the lottery tonight. Guess I'll buy another next week.(Good thing this isn't my retirement plan).....MUST.. get.. to Australia for New Years even if I have to swim..
@curse_t - We'll keep trying with those lotto tickets!
Giba - President Obama is currently visiting Australia (not sure if he has left for Indonesia yet.) He was here for 26 hours in total!!!
Heres a cyber kleenex for ya! keep supporting the gov with the lotto tickets
Jay Kay was interviewed on a morning television show here today (Monday morning) regarding the NYE concert in Sydney. He was via satellite from Limoges, France, where it was still Sunday night, before the JMQ concert there. I hope you guys will be able to watch it:
It was a great interview! Jay was in a cheeky mood!
He said he'll be the only straight performer there!!(referring to Culture Club and Pet Shop Boys). He also wants a "bevy of Australian beauties" to be there to welcome him when he arrives in Sydney!!
Thanks for posting this CosmicLea, I like his statement of the only straight one there (referring to Culture club and Pet Shop boys) Hey! my granda used to own a Rover..coulda been a '74 too. It was a lovely british racing green with a cream interior. Any luck with the lotto
You're welcome curse_t! I'm glad you were able to watch the video (sometimes it's only available to watch within Australia).
No luck with the lotto tickets yet. But I forgot to buy one this past weekend. Must keep trying!
I don't know if a winner has been announced for the competition to win tickets yet either. Fingers crossed!
