Thanks Ninochka!
Funny -"The music scene has changed and may cost them".
I don't think they ever fit in the scene. They kinda made the scene!

BS -band isn't operating @ peak! Nah, just a ballad.
Hurtin' gospel-like preachin'! Yes
Lifeline & Hey Floyd definitely sound like big good!

The reviews for the album looks good so far! :D

A 4.5-star (Impressive) review (in Spanish, sorry for bad translation):

This album is like a portrait with a funk background is printed on every song. But how successful has wanted to do with funk a reminder of those styles that Jamiroquai has developed over the years and some extra one. The songs have a good tone and even some eventually repeated a bit, in the history of the band is a great brand to consider and ultimately, a very good job. More or less in line quality of the discs 90 (as Travelling Without Moving) or A Funk Odyssey (which actually was more disco and pop)."

From ContactMusic :

http://www.contactmusic.com/new/home.ns ... light-star

Another one .. i quoted this
One thing remains certain; Jamiroquai has always walked down their own path, writing and playing music that transcends the sound of any specific date or time. This is a timeless attribute which is rare to find in most bands. It’s almost 20 years into the bands existence, and hopefully we’ll see Jamiroquai around for another 15-20 years, or more.

From Billboard :

From any reviews in one place :

(From Funkin) And RDLS's currently no.5 at UK Chart, beaten up by Cheryl Cole :(

OMG! LOL!
The only thing holding the record back from being truly great is if you have a preternatural urge to punch Jay Kay.

So krass! What'd ya think White Knuckle ride is for -to explain his past behavior!
Frankly I was shocked when I came to research them a year ago, to find Jay as a bit of testosterone! We don't hear these stories in the U.S.!)

It is too bad they are low, but I don't think I ever decide to buy a cd because of how it was rated. Just get it to the radio.

I can't see how somebody could say these songs are "identical music" to the past Jamiroquai. I'll bet they think all black people look the same!

Album reviews should be just that - reviews of the album.

It really irks me when critics or reviewers take the liberty of putting their own personal feelings about the artist in their review.

Professionals should focus on the music, not on petty schoolyard opinions.

All of that aside, if I had made my music purchases based on reviews, I would have missed out on some truly great music!

When it comes to aesthetics, reviews are basically useless.

Now, if you want to know what vacuum to buy, by all means check the reviews!

From a local radio (in Indonesian):Link

The opening track 'Rock Star Dust Light' is smooth enough to build a solid foundation in the sense of desire to listen to the whole album. I was impressed with the way they are providing lively atmosphere but with a relaxed sound. Followed by 'White Knuckle Ride' which is the flagship single from this album. If you are addicted to its sound, can also be heard 'All Good In The Hood', 'She's A Fast Persuader' and also 'Hey Floyd'. Rhythm of the soul in the song 'Smoke And Mirrors' is addictive. But the most recommended tracks for this album is 'Two Completely Different Things'. The music is genuine fun. Light and flowing perfectly with the Jay's vocals.

More:
Got a mood to relax? You can play the songs in this album to accompany your "me time". Set to the song 'Blue Skies', 'Never Gonna Be Another' and also 'Hurtin'. You will from experience the great relaxed time with you some jazzy tunes. Collected in this track are tracks selected from a total of 40 songs that they prepared. Certainly, the elected are the best.

Finally, a review from allmusic.com.

Ultimately, with the album's mix of horns, various percussion instruments, piano, and a general live-in-studio vibe combined with a mature "deep cut" songwriting approach, Rock Dust Light Star does bring to mind the more full-band sound of Jamiroquai's early acid jazz albums and goes a long way toward reestablishing Kay as a uniquely talented and legitimate heir to the '70s funk throne.

Rating: 4 stars out of 5
Track picks: White Knuckle Ride, Smokes and Mirrors,She's A Fast Persuader
