I hope they do more than one gig in Portugal.

And perhaps with a Portuguese Jamiroquai meetup as well.

There was quite a bit of fuss in the Portuguese media over the Jamiroquai gig.

One newspaper said that Jay is fatter, has more wrinkles and doesn't jump as much as he used to, but that he can still drive the crows mad.

Cause each year someone dies at that festival victim of an overdose or alcohol coma and my parents wouldn't let me go. So, at least for me, it wasn't funny. My friends did go and all I wanted was (at least) to listen to the concert. No luck when it came to that.

I wish I could laugh at this as you do. Maybe I wouldn't feel this sad.

How did I miss this?

I'm not laughing at you missing the concert. You're the biggest fan at this site. :(
You are young. You will see them again.
Jamiroquai is traveling only Europe, not America. I live in America. They never come to America. I've never even seen them once!

I've been to plenty of Festivals. I agree, I probably won't let my kids go til they're 21.

I didn't go because I would have to travel quite a bit and you can only reach Zambujeira by car.

Giba, they will certainly go to America before they return to Portugal. I hope they get really big in the States with this album.

They have been absent here, and this makes me sad. I hadn't heard them in about 12 years.
I really think this album will be different. I'll bet their new record label will really promote them here.
But I'm wondering if they will play smaller venues to start.

I held great tickets back in 1997. They canceled their trip here. Quite disappointed.
So when they come out here I will be sure to go!

Jamiroquai are appreciated almost everywhere in Europe, they're big in Latin America, let's not talk about Japan where they are absolutely crazy for Jamiro, but it seems like they never got into the US for some reason.

Don't worry, I'm sure they will tour the States extensively this time. But I remember Jay saying that it was hard for him to tour in the US because they have no decent sportscars whatsoever.

I'm soo sorry for the way I talked. No excuse for my behaviour but If it helps, I was quite angry for missing the gig. :?

About being the biggest fan, I'm most surely not

When it is about celebs all newspapers and magazines do. Not that they have pics of J not wearing any underwear or something like that but they always mention the weight and the passing of the years..
In this case it wasn't that bad cause after mentioning it (J has gained a little weight and won't dance as furiously...) they said that Jamiroquai would still drive the crowds mad and had the perfect style when it comes to summer festivals

caroli, was this where you read the article?? : http://www.publico.pt/Cultura/palco-sem-emocao-festa-fora-dele-no-sudoeste_1450434 in publico
i read the comments and some people got pissed with the person who wrote it :? i was a bit specially in the part where he says that jmq gave a "non-professional gig far far away from perfection" (what!? ) and they were still popular and the crowd seem to loved the gig but they're part of the past (!?) and no one seem to care for them anymore

everyone loved the gig, thought it was professional and still remebers the lyrics and dances to the songs, so...bullshit

ZOMFG! Just went to read the bloody article and I have one question: was the man drunk or what?! Jamiroquai won't be over until we all quit on listening to them. They have more fans than that man have hair! I just have one thing to say:

"Vítor Belanciano é o parvo residente do jornal Público"

God Bless Our High Times! and f**k the rest.

OMG -sorry, catching up on this thread!
Caroli -don't apologize. I'd be disappointed to miss it too!

Oh Come on -He can't find a car F**king good enough for him in the states?
Detroit would chew him up and spit him out for that comment.
He probably doesn't like the music here also.
Maybe they shouldn't come.

However, if he meant this tongue in cheek, then come to America.

Jay is very professional, I'm sure he wouldn't skip the US just because he doesn't like their cars.
