If starring the amazing Malcolm Mcdowell 8)
A 1968 british drama set in the english public schools. Malcolm stars as a non conformist who rebels against the "whips" who are the senior boys in the school who have authority over the juniors. If you are in the mood for weird and wonderful, I would suggest this one. Here is a clip that shows you don't have to have a lot of dialoque to get your thoughts across. Talk about animal attractionhttp://youtu.be/MEbdNvdhpUA

Took my daughter and a friend to see "Mirror Mirror" today. We really enjoyed it. The costumes alone were so beautiful to look at, as well as the cinematography. :D

@ Giba - what did you think of "The Hunger Games"? Did you take your older daughter? My daughter wants to see it but my husband and I are uneasy about the concept we saw on the back of the book: "The annual Hunger Games is a fight to the death on live TV". (I'd really appreciate your opinion. )

I really liked "This Means War".

when the movie came out, I'd ignored all the hype and was actually clueless!
but she really wanted to see it, so I took her. (I've been told by a teacher, the book level is supposed to be for a 12 year old. )
The problem is, if this were a real situation, and you were forced to kill to survive, you'd probably have remorse but justify it to survive.
But the group was divided, 2/3 were agressive to kill.
Which made it more like a sport, and more callous.
(I made sure to discuss some things during or after the movie)

But for me, the whole thing was a bit too far out there.

Same! I bought the book for my daughter after hearing it was the current big thing for teenagers without looking into what it was about! She hasn't read it, I have it on my bedside table but haven't had a chance to look over it yet.

Thanks for your insight Giba. I think I'll wait till the movie comes out on dvd. It's a bit too far out there for me too.

RE: the Hunger Games movie -the book is more graphic. And the youngest age is estimated at 12.
But just like playing with guns, I try to teach the action is not to be brought into the real world.

Yes, I heard that too.
Giba7 wrote:But just like playing with guns, I try to teach the action is not to be brought into the real world.
Yes, definitely. I also always reiterate with movies/tv that it is fantasy, not real life.

Thanks again for your insight Giba, I appreciate it! I did ask a few friends who saw it for their opinions also, which were much the same as yours.

never heard of "As linhas de Wellington", or "the Lines of Wellington". Malkovich is a great actor.

I watched part of "The Book of Eli" last night. The theme is post-apocalypse and the funniest part is when the old couple pull out a vinyl and put it on their Victrola. I'm waiting to hear what song and it's "Ring My Bell" by Anita Ward!!  I almost fell off the couch with laughter!

Then watched part of "How Do you know" with Paul Rudd & Reese Witherspoon.
What a profound movie. The details of life matter so much.
So true how a little change, or a choice can have such impact on your life and happiness.
