we have the best vegetarian butcher ever...butcher..het butchers Lupine and Soya have you been a vegetarian long? Me not so long..like 4 years or so. Feel so much better (not as a person, but healthwise) and the vegetarian butcher makes it easier on my friends, because their meatlike products realy taste like the real deal and have the same structure http://www.devegetarischeslager.nl/shop ... lager-lijn

I was originally a vegetarian from 1998 - 2000.
Recently I've returned to vegetarianism since November 2012 and haven't looked back. Even when I did eat meat, I never ate that much and I never ate fish...EVER!! I don't miss meat at all. And I don't even really look for the "fake meat" products. Very few appeal to me anyway. My favorite food in the World is Thai food!! I could eat that stuff in my sleep, it's so GOOD!!

that Yakitori does look yummy! is it Japanese? and I love Thai food too! Still drinking my green goddess drinks. But it takes a lot of ingredients to keep stocked. Probably funny when I only need to buy the cucumber.

Nothing extravagant here for Christmas dinner: steak, smashed potatoes and salad. But I'd bought fresh calamari and breaded and sauteed it. It actually was sooo delicious. I also baked about 5 batches of Tollhouse chocolate chip cookies this season, and 4 loaves of banana bread. And I made a great Artichoke dip (I think I posted a pic before).

Our Christmas here is quite traditional so on the 24th (dinner): boiled cod fish, with boiled potatoes and boiled vegetables in general. Chocolate mouse, Christmas pudding, Bolo-Rei, Sonhos, Coscorões (these last 3 are cakes made here and I don't think their names have translation) and fruit. 25th December (lunch) : Stuffed Turkey with french fries and raisins rice. The stuffing is a family recipe... I would post pictures but I don't have any (and the turkey was 9kg!) add all the sweets and cakes again. ...and that's why I'm still not hungry!

So, this is what I made on December 31st... Smoked salmon & Avocado rolls... Gouda & walnut cookies... entrée: Greek style cheesecake... This time I made something quite different for the dessert... At first, it was a real disaster... but I fixed it! so I tried a Vienna Cake... And, finally, chocolate & salted butter caramel tart... cut into small pieces... And my mum cooked sea food Gratin and a leg of lamb.

I love Mexican food, and here's how to make the meat for homemade tacos: Take chicken or steak, slice into pieces and roll in a dry garlic salt, cumin and cayenne pepper mix. Sautee' in a pan of a light layer of olive oil (cook thoroughly for chicken, steak can be pink) Cut slices into smaller pieces for tacos. Add cheese, tomato, lettuce, guacamole and salsa. my special salsa = plum tomatoes, cilantro, red onion (if desired), lemon juice, garlic salt, cumin and cayenne pepper. I actually chop a bunch of tomatoes and throw into the blender. Then and add chunks of cilantro, onion, the dry seasonings and a squeeze of lemon. I chop/pause/chop in the blender (drain any water that separates in the bowl)The key to good salsa is having a good ratio for taste
