David

I just wanted to say thank you for your continued support to all Jamiroquai fans.

This new forum is amazing, it is new yet encapsulates the old one perfectly.

Once again

Thank you

Hi David,

some bugs I have detected:

there is an icon missing... the one which shows new messages ( must be an arrow or something).. the old URL was: /styles/NeatoWhite/imageset/icon_minipost.gif

And, when big pictures are posted, the forum is stretched which looks bad.

Also, I tried to order a new password and got the message that it has been sent, but it wasn't. So I grabbed into my email inbox and found my old password which was still working (althought the system has told me that a new one was on its way).
I think this is an old problem, i remember this happend to me before.

Thanks for the comments. I've passed them onto the people who have been setting up the templates in this new version of the forum software. Hopefully they will fix it soon!

Yes, I just noticed that I'm the author of posts put up before I joined. I wonder if when I post this I'll be the author of this!!

David's been on holiday for a few weeks - he's aware of the problems with the forum, it's frustrating for all of us :( We just hope all the little niggly things will be fixed soon :) :) :)

This was posted in August last year and it's still not been corrected has it!

Plus the private message boxes are really messed up. You can hardly work out where to read it if you get one - and there doesn't seem to be a reply.

Where are you mods?! Not looking professional guys!

We're here :) :) :) But the mods can't actually do anything and we are just as frustrated as you are - I have been in contact with David so many times that I can't remember - whenever I see a problem I let him know about it - but his hands are tied (the same as ours are) as only the webguys who created the new forum can make changes - so unfortunately we have to wait until these guys do something - I'm sorry :( :( :(

Re: Forum Upgrade - August 08 (updated July 09)

Postby David on Sun Jul 26, 2009 5:47 pm

OK, I've been able to get some decent access to the inner workings of the forum and have been tidying things up a bit. In addition to all the fantastic work that our moderators have been doing keeping the spammers away I've managed to get the forum pages how they should be following last years upgrade.

OK, so some things will look slightly different - such as your avatars on the right of the page rather than the left, but this is the default layout for the forum software and I wanted to keep the Jamiroquai forum as close as possible to the default layout - but with Jamiroquai icons and colours that match the main site.

Things like the private messaging screens should now look 'proper' and you shouldn't see things like 'START ....' and 'END .....' on many of the pages.

On top of this, I've been disabling a large number of users - mainly the ones who never signed up after we moved to this forum in 2005.

If you've any problems please let myself or any of the moderators know. Thanks for your patience.

David (and the team)
