Jamiroquai cover versions

Postby mrbeckhansen on Sat Mar 20, 2010 9:06 pm

Hi Guys

I've just enjoyed the Jamiroquai coverversion of the Roy Ayers track Don't Stop that Feeling from Tokyo 1995.
I was wondering if you guys could help making a list of all the coversongs Jamiroquai have performed?

Yeah 8)

I don't have mp3... I don't think any bootleg features "The Bottle", & as far as I know, "It's Your World" is only available on Glasgow 1997 & Wembley 1997 recordings.
But here's youtube link:

The Bottle (Live at The Roxy, Los Angeles, 1993, excerpt, unfortunately): CLICK HERE
It's Your World (Live in Glasgow 1997): CLICK HERE

a gift for you guys

Jamiroquai - It's Your World [Live in Glasgow, 1997]

I really loved the bass (of course haha) and DJ D-Zire on this tune! JUST AMAZING! :D
That was definitely the best Jamiroquai line-up ever! The sax solo was UNBELIEVABLE! :P
Enjoy kiddies!

by the way, this is something for the newbies:

LIVE B-SIDES
During all their career, Jamiroquai played some songs in their concerts that were never released in albums. Some of them are early versions (ie, different lyrics, etc) that were later included in albums. Here's a list of never released Jamiroquai songs played only live.

> 'Do That Dance'
Played during some concerts in 1993. Mixed with other live, 'Life Goes On', the result of this 2 song was 'Scam', included in the second album of the band 'The Return Of The Space Cowboy'.
> 'Let Me Believe'
Played during 1993, this song with different lyrics and not exactly same music, was later 'Manifest Destiny', included in 'The Return Of The Space Cowboy'.
> 'Give Me A Bad Name'
Played during 1993, it is also known as 'Brothers Like You'.
> 'The Kids Got Funky Soul'
Played during 1993, it is an early version (not the definitive one) of 'The Kids', later included in 'The Return Of The Space Cowboy'.
> 'Life Goes On'
Played during 1993.
> 'Stu's Tune'
Played during 1993.
> 'Hey Mr Boogie'
Played during 1994 and 1995.
> 'Who The Funk Do You Think You Are'
Played during 1994 as an intro of 'Emergency On Planet Earth'.
> 'Cannabliss'
Played during 2001 and 2002, Jay said it was probably gonna be included in the 6th album. It wasn't.
> 'Funk Odyssey'
Played during 2001 and 2002, the intro of this song was later used for live versions of 'Use The Force'.
> 'Shoot The Moon'
This song was played live only once, in the Montreux Jazz Festival July 16th 2003, and it's the only version known. Also gonna be included in the band's sixth album, percussionist Sola Akingbola said 'it didn't make it into the album', so probably a studio version of this song actually exists.

LIVE COVERS
During all their concerts, Jamiroquai is known for playing different covers in their tour. Here's a list of the cover songs played live by the band:

> 'God Made Me Funky' (The Headhunters)
> 'Rapper's Delight' (Sugarhill Jam)
> 'Wild Style'
> 'Tighten Up' (Archie Bell and the Drells)
> 'Signed, Sealed, Delivered... I'm Yours' (Stevie Wonder)
> 'Turn Off The Lights' (Larry Young)
> 'Don't Stop (The Feeling)' (Roy Ayers)
> 'Our Time Is Coming'
> 'Coffey' (Roy Ayers)
> 'The Harder They Come' (Jimmy Cliff)
> 'Whole Lotta Love' (Led Zeppelin)
> 'We're Getting Down' (Weldone Irvine)
> 'Sunny' (Bob Hebb)
> 'Hollywood Swinging' (Kool & The Gang)
> 'It's Your World'
> 'Upside Down' (featuring Diana Ross, Brit Awards 1997)
> 'Miss You' (Rolling Stones)
> 'Bad Girls' (Donna Summer)
> 'Love Is The Drug' (The Roxy)
> 'Crosstown Traffic' (Jimmy Hendrix)
