Jamiroquai Masterclass In London

Postby Sandriche on Fri Apr 27, 2007 5:52 pm

Over recent years different members of Jamiroquai have given talks and performances to people interested in music at a variety of different events - a good example being a performance and Q&A session that most of the band did following their concert at the Montreux Jazz Festival in 2003.

Well, on Monday June 18 The Institute Of Contemporary Music Performance is holding a "Jamiroquai Masterclass" atThe Luminaire, in Kilburn, London.

"We will welcome Paul Turner (Bass), Derrick McKenzie (Drums) Sola Akingbola (percussion) and Rob Harris (Guitar) to perform a very special gig at the Luminaire."

Tickets are free but you have to get them in advance. More details can be found at The Institute Of Contemporary Music Performancewebsite.

(This event will be ticketed... No ticket = no entry. Tickets are FREE and will be available from Monday 4th June. To get yours reserve it first by calling us on 020 7328 0222 and then come into our premises at 1a Dyne Road, Kilburn, London to collect! (Priority is given to students of the Institute)

I just rang and the guy on the switchboard said I had to wait until the middle of May as I wasn't a student there. Don't know what to do now - ring up under another name!!! Maybe somebody on here is a student there and can get me a ticket? I'd really like to go. How come he let you reserve a ticket Natalie, are you a student there?? :?

No I'm not a student! Maybe I should call back and find out whats going on cuz the guy definitely put me +1 down. He did say that students have priority over everyone else but nothing about waiting until May

Hey Jam Fan - Just tried to ring again and was told that I had to wait, yet again, until 4 June! Told him someone I knew who wasn't a student was able to reserve tickets and he wanted to know who you were! Luckily, I couldn't remember your name! Guess I'll try again then :(

Hmm, I'm thinking the guy I spoke to was a bit useless. I will call back on the 4th and double check that I have the tickets. Anyway, I still don't know much about it, like what time it is even! And what sort of music etc...

And they'e now changed what it says on the website. I was told I could pick tickets up on the day of the event now it says you have to collect them before the 11th :(

This is what it now says...

This event will be ticketed. No ticket = no entry. Tickets are FREE and will be available to non-Institute students from Monday 4th June. After this date you can reserve your ticket by calling us on 020 7328 0222. Tickets must be collected from our premises at 1a Dyne Road, Kilburn, London prior to the event. If tickets are not collected by close of business on Monday 11th June they will become re-available. (Priority is given to students of the Institute)

I just called, the guy said tickets reserved by the students have to be collected by the 15th. If they aren't collected they will become available again to the public so I was told to call back then to see if there are any left. It's a bit annoying to be told call on this date, then get told another date, then another! But anyway I will call back, AGAIN, on the 15th!

Yes, thank you so much. You seem to find out so much more than me! He didn't let me know this at all, even though I must have sounded put out. Thanks again Natalie. Did you get your ticket? And Sandriche, are you coming over?

No I didn't get mine yet, I'm hoping there will be some left on the 15th. As I seem to be having the teeniest bit more luck than you with speaking to these (useless) people, do you want me to reserve an extra ticket for you if I can, because my boyfriend has decided he doesn't want to go I will be on my own ( :( ) lol
