Postby samantha1170 on Mon Nov 06, 2006 11:03 am

Here's some information from Funkin.com...

After the news last week of a concert being held at the Islington Academy in London on 16 November, Capital Radio (London) are running a competition to win 50 pairs of tickets to the gig.

Don't forget to also enter the competition at the USC website.

Thanks to: Funkin.com

GOOD LUCK to everyone - hope some of you are able to win tickets :) :) :)

Here's an update about this event...

On 16 November the band are playing an exclusive gig for Capital Radio at the Mean Fiddler venue in Central London. Stay tuned to Jamiroquai.com for a chance to win tickets!!!

So I've changed the title of this topic to reflect the venue change :)

Hi everyone,I just wanted to say how excited I am about this competition. I tried and failed (including getting 5 of my friends to enter) to win a ticket for the electric proms. I have rung virtually every time and have only got through twice and then they didn't pick me! I am soooooooooo frustrated.....but of course always optomistic!!!!!

Good luck everyone from a loyal long time fan x (EOPE)

Here's some more information from Funkin...

On Thursday night Jamiroquai played an exclusive concert (organised by Capital Radio) at the Mean Fiddler venue in Central London. The set list was as follows:

Space Cowboy

Canned Heat

If I Like It I Do it

Little L

Alright

Black Capricorn Day

Love Foolosophy

Travelling Without Moving

Deeper Underground

Runaway

The gig was recorded (audio and video) no doubt for future broadcast so we'll have to wait and see when this will be.

Jay was on great form and took time out to sign lots of things (both during and after the gig, when he remained on stage), including CD's, vinyl, DVD's and also a funkin.com t-shirt that was thrown on stage during the show! More information on that to follow...

Hi everyone, here's an article I found about the gig...

Shhh . . . it’s Jay

Jay Kay took the term “secret gig to a new level last night when he arrived incognito and wearing a balaclava to his own.

The Jamiroquai front man played an intimate Capital 95.8FM gig at Mean Fiddler, Charing Cross Road, but instead of arriving in one of the beauties from his classic car collection, he showed up on a silver vintage Vespa.

He told theBuzz: “I just feel like I’ve been going and going and going, and I’m about ready to drop. The star slipped off early afterwards because he had to get up early to record a track for Children in Need.
