Where is Jamiroquai found in your record store?

Postby Ferrarijay on Fri Nov 18, 2005 9:57 pm

I find it strange that in HMV Canada's Jamiroquai CD's are found under "Electronica". I don't think there is anything "Electronica" about Jamiroquai. After all it is a full band more in keeping with Earth Wind and Fire or Parliament. Even other stores seem to be at a loss as to where to put Jamiroquai CD's. I think this is the big problem they have in North America, nobody knows what to classify them as in this age of pre-packaged fake music. So where are they found in your local record store?

I think if you add up all the 12" singles and remixes...

Jamiroquai is like Prince in a lot of ways. Prince is Funk, Rock, R&B, Jazz, nobody seems to know how to pidgeon hole his music. I thought for sure Price would show up at the Toronto show (He lives here now).
